This qualification reflects the role of individuals in the community, home or residential care setting who work under supervision a part of a multi-disciplinary team, following an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to clients who require support due to ageing, disability, or some other reason.
During the course, you will gain comprehensive knowledge and skills for providing physical, social and emotional support to clients. Additionally, you will develop the ability to collaborate effectively within a team, including with other professionals like nurses and healthcare workers.

Entry requirements include:
- Must be Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or appropriate visa holder
- Clear National Police Check
- Completion of English to year 12 or equivalent, or equivalent English language, literacy and numeracy skills

Workplace
Full time: Approx 6 months
Part time: Approx 12 months
120 hours Work placement
We have existing quality relationships with our local Facilities and Organisations which ensure our students are offered the best Work Placement opportunities possible.
If you’re already working in the Industry, you may be able to complete your Work Placement at your workplace.
Although Work Placement is unpaid, it provides fantastic work experience as well the confidence and contacts that will assist in gaining employment.
Your work shifts will be based on the standard shifts of the organisation you are placed. Please consider your transport needs in relation to this.
Vaccinations may be required to undertake work placement, depending on the specific policies of the host organisation.
