The Diploma of Ageing and Pastoral or Spiritual Care is ideal for gaining the necessary skill sets for a profession in the aged care industry as a Pastoral or Spiritual Care Manager. The responsibilities of Pastoral or Spiritual Care Managers are diverse in nature but generally include duties such as the implementation of pastoral or spiritual care programs, the evaluation and assessment of client needs, and coordinating referral processes.
This course will equip those working within pastoral or spiritual care with older persons to:
- Implement a holistic aged care or community care program
- Run a group of volunteers
- Write a spiritual care plan
- Conduct a pastoral assessment
- Design programs for the spiritual wellbeing of the older
persons in residential aged care - Provide specialist support for the older persons i.e., older
persons with dementia and/or older persons in palliative
care - Manage and coordinate pastoral and administrative duties
- Develop and implement the selection and recruitment
process for new P/C volunteers
