This training applies to individuals who are looking to gain skills for a role within the care sector.
The training reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support in an aged care setting or home care setting.
This course will develop a range of skills required for roles in the following areas:

HCSS00129 Individual Support – Ageing Skill Set is for people working in various care and support roles in the community services industry who wish to develop the skills necessary to provide person-centred support to older people.
You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to respond to the goals and aspirations of older people and provide support services in a manner that focuses on improving health outcomes and quality of life using a person-centred approach.
You will learn how to determine and respond to an individual’s physical personal support needs and to support activities of daily living.
The Skill Set will describe the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred care and support to people living with dementia, including following and contributing to an established individual plan.
The units of study in this Skill Set provide credit towards a range of qualifications in the CHC Community Services Training Package.

- This is an open entry program of study with participants needing to read, write and communicate in English to a level to perform the job
- be over 16 years of age, who have finished or left secondary school
- undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills Indicator assessment questionnaire
- have technological skills to undertake computer/online work and have access to a computer and software with the following minimum specifications
